Jacqueline Faith Janssens, 56, of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the MHP Emergency Room in Oskaloosa. She was born July 30, 1968, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Roberta Cronk Fairchild. She attended Fremont Schools. Following school, she worked for Pella Plastics in Pella and Casey’s in Pella. She retired from both of those places when she was injured in 2004. She was united in marriage to David Janssens in Knoxville. Jackie enjoyed the comradery and spiritual fulfillment of church; she always found a church home in her community. She enjoyed being a part of the congregation at First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Ottumwa where she was baptized on October 27, 2019, Grace Fellowship Church in Pella, and Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed crafting, hunting morel mushrooms, fishing, camping and collecting Mickey Mouse and Eagle figurines. She was an avid Pittsburg Stealers Fan. She looked forward to family get togethers during the holidays and everyone looked forward to her bringing her famous chocolate chip cookies.
Her family includes her three children, Sarah (Scott) Johnson of Packwood, Travis (fiancé Violet Woods) Fairchild of Oskaloosa, and Michael (fiancé Jean Luzadder) Post of Oskaloosa; ten grandchildren, Daniel Nichols, Caleb Johnson, Kristin Johnson, Samuel Nichols, Jaydynn Johnson, Cloey Johnson, Isabella Johnson, Aryanna Johnson, Joshua Fairchild, and Trenton Fairchild; two sisters, Sherri (Joe) Lahvic of Monroe City, Missouri, and Shelly (Brad) VanRheenen of Sherwood, Wisconsin; a brother, Rodney and Laura Fairchild of Bloomfield, Iowa; her aunt, Connie Phillips of Martinsburg; many nieces and nephews including, Theresa (Dan) Bastian of Packwood; and many cousins.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, David Janssens in 2008; her parents, three grandchildren, Lily Diann Nichols, Gabriella Fairchild, and Alexandria Fairchild; and a brother, Jack (Barb) Fairchild.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Ottumwa with Reverend Richard Schlotter officiating. As was Jackie’s wish her body has been cremated. Memorials may be made to the family C/O Sherri Lahvic.
