Lida Juanita Lee, 89, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Lockridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library or to the family in care of Michael Lee, 2974-220 th St. Lockridge, IA 52635. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Juanita was born September 10, 1934 in Argyle, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel P. and Vissa Belle (Clark) Bentzinger. Juanita was a graduate of Keosauqua High School and was a part of the 6 on 6 basketball team that went to the state tournament. She married Guerdon Hugh Lee, October 21, 1955.
Juanita was an avid reader. She cherished her time spent with her family. Juanita enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Guerdon; sons, Michael (Deborah) Lee of Lockridge and Mark (Lisa) Lee of New River, Arizona; five grandchildren, one step-grandson, five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Oswhen, Floyd, Richard, and Walter Bentzinger, Geneva Bealmer, and Doris Waldren.
