Anna Rose Buckingham, 94, of Fairfield, IA passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Jefferson County Health Care Center.  As were her wishes, her body had been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Bethesda Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Anna’s honor may be directed to the Bethesda Church Cemetery Association and mailed to Janice Shaw, 307 W. Anna Rose Buckingham was born on May 6, 1930, in Burlington, IA to Frank and Anna Woodcock Denz. Anna graduated from Burlington High School and quickly entered the workforce. She married the love of her life, Glen Buckingham on April 1, 1954. They moved to Jefferson County and began their life together. They became the loving parents of five children: Karen, Janice, Ronald, Bruce, and Roger. Anna was a lifelong homemaker and farmwife. She spent many years working as a cook at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. Anna was someone who enjoyed simple things like being at home. She found comfort in the company of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen Buckingham; a grandson, Steven Buckingham, and her three siblings, Charlotte, Art, and Frank.

Left to honor her memory are her two daughters, Karen Mashek of Fairfield, IA, and Janice (David) Shaw of Libertyville, IA; three sons, Ronald Buckingham of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Bruce Buckingham of Cedar Rapids, IA and Roger (Deb) Buckingham of Brighton, IA; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.
