Authorities are investigating the death of a southeast Iowa woman who was found on the outskirts of Eddyville last week.
Monroe County Sheriff Dan Johnson says the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office was initially contacted early Friday morning when the body of 49-year-old Dana Marie Williams of Albia was discovered. It was later determined that the deceased was in Monroe County and the investigation was handed off to Johnson’s office.
Williams’ cause and manner of death are undetermined, according to Johnson. Her body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
