A Centerville juvenile was arrested on Tuesday after police say he made terroristic threats.

Chief Tom Demry of the Centerville Police Department says his office was contacted by the Centerville Community School District. The district was made aware of a threat of violence toward the school by a student.

Police conducted an investigation to assess the viability of the threat and a 17-year-old male was removed from the school and taken into custody. Demry says no students or staff were placed in immediate danger.

The teen was charged with threat of terrorism, a Class D felony, and referred to Juvenile Court.

Demry says the Centerville Police Department takes all threats of violence seriously and encourages students to alert a trusted adult if they see or hear something suspicious.
