Clive, IA- An Ottumwa man has won a $50,000 lottery prize. Jeffrey Box won the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Fab 4” scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at BP, 444 E. Main St. in Agency, and claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

An Ottumwa woman has won a $10,000 lottery prize. Shellie Houk won the big prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Starry Night” scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at MAD Ave Quik Shop, 405 S. Madison Ave. in Ottumwa, and claimed her prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

A Monroe County man has won a $10,000 lottery prize. James “Jim” Riley of Albia won the 20th prize of $10,000 in the Iowa Lottery’s “$100,000 Mega Crossword” scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at BP, 107 N. Main St. in Albia, and claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

Since the lottery’s start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.6 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for state programs. Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They support Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
