Terry Lynn Breeding, 66, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on November 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 23, 1957 in DuPage County, Illinois to Patricia Posovich Breeding. Terry attended high school in Moravia, Iowa. On January 15, 1977, he married Kathy Gabel in Fort Madison, Iowa. The couple lived in Bloomfield and raised two children; Jeremy and Angela.

Terry worked at the Bloomfield Foundry for 35 years. While not working, he loved to be outdoors. It did not matter what he was doing, he just loved being outdoors. Some of his favorite outdoor activities included; camping, fishing, hunting, walking, riding his bike, family hayrides, and shooting guns. Terry also enjoyed playing video games, family get-togethers, and a cold Pepsi.

While working at the foundry, Terry was involved in a burn accident and he spent about two weeks at the Burn Treatment Center at the University of Iowa. The treatment and care Terry received was very special to him. In honor of that care, he started to collect candy and other donations around Bloomfield during Halloween and Easter so he could take them to the burn victims at the treatment center. This act of kindness earned him the nickname “Candy Man.” Terry did this for many years and was happy to volunteer his time for a good cause.

Terry is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Jeremy (Becky Perdew) Breeding of Pulaski, Iowa; daughter, Angela Breeding of Bloomfield; ten grandchildren, Dakota, Ella, Courtney, Aimee, Chelsie, Chloe, Mackenzie, Luke, Owen, Mason; five great-grandchildren, Raymii, Rebel, Kailor, Nova, Wrenley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; grandparents, Stanley and Rosetta Pazarich; father-and-mother-in-law, Duane and Irma Gabel; uncle, Stanley Posovich; aunt, Betty Ball; and three brothers-in-law, Carl Sanders, Dave Helmick and Tom Ingram.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Bill Eakins officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of Flowers, a memorial has been established to the Burn Treatment Center at the University of Iowa.
