Joylyn Joanne Bishop, 90, of Keosauqua died at 1:43 A.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Keosauqua Health Care Center. As were her wishes, her body has been cremated. A celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Cranston
Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions in Joanne’s honor may be directed to the Lebanon Cemetery Association or to the Arc of East Central Iowa (arceci.org) and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to 5820 Duggleby Ave, Davenport, IA 52807. Joylyn Joanne Bishop was born in Lebanon Iowa June 1, 1933, to Rupert R. and Dora Marie Whitcanack Hughes.

She married Ivan Bishop on February 11, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Iowa. He died on August 27, 1995. Joanne lived most of her life in Van Buren County, working as a telephone operator for Van Buren Telephone Company, and various restaurants in the
Keosauqua area.

Surviving are 2 sons, Jerry (Teri) of Davenport, Iowa; Joe (Jennifer) of Marion, Iowa; 3 brothers, Allen (Rita) of Keosauqua, Rodney (Patricia) of Mayfield Pennsylvania, Roger of Cantril; 3 sisters, Maxine Smith of Keosauqua, Beverly Latimer of Phoenix, Arizona, Sandi Gillespie of Irving Texas; 5 grandchildren; Matt Bishop (Karen), Brad Bishop (Kristen), Beth Pilcher (Gene), Justin Bishop, Julie Bishop; 10 great-grandchildren; Abby and Jackson Bishop, Dayton, Colton, Declan, Karis, and Kaia Bishop, Calvin, Macy and Madeline Pilcher, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Jack, Howard and Danny; 2 sisters, Evelyn Huffman, and Phyllis Bickerstaff.
