Kevin Coin McKee, 43, of Oskaloosa died Saturday, October 24, 2026. He was born on December 3, 1982, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Randy and Lisa Moore McKee. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 2001. Following high school he worked various construction jobs. On October 31, 2012, he was united in marriage to Nicole Kroes. The two of them later divorced. In 2015, he moved to Colorado and worked for Colorado Hazard Control doing asbestos mitigation. He returned to Iowa in 2017 and went back to work doing construction. He also worked part time at Riverside Restaurant in Oskaloosa. Kevin was raised by his grandparents, Clarence and Gail McKee, and they instilled a love of coins in him. He traveled all over the mid-west with them going to coin shows and events. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, hiking, rock climbing, and collecting rocks. Above all he adored his four children.
He is survived by his four children, Asher Hoard of Iowa, Caycee Bricker of Oskaloosa, Valissa McKee of Eddyville and Raven McKee of Centerville; his father and stepmom, Randy (Michelle Cooper) McKee of Oskaloosa; his mother, Lisa McKee-Moore of Wisconsin; a brother, Tyler Kluever of Wisconsin, sisters, Rachel McKee of Oskaloosa, and Carolyn Moore of Wisconsin; his longtime girlfriend, Malerie Thomas of Centerville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Gail McKee and Don and Diane Gilbertson; and an aunt, Cindy Hamling.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Owen McKee officiating. Burial will be in the Henness Cemetery southwest of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
