Hospice Serving Davis & Wapello Counties will be hosting its grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony starting at 9:00 AM on November 7th.
Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony there will be an open house and tour of our newly reopened, 6-bed, inpatient
building located at 927 Pennsylvania Ave in Ottumwa Iowa.
Hospice Serving Davis & Wapello Counties has been operating as a non-profit organization since being founded in 1982. Hospice offices are located in Ottumwa and have been serving the community from the facility since 2010. During the pandemic, its 6-bed inpatient unit was closed and remained closed until November 7th, 2023. Hospice services are provided by an interdisciplinary team that includes a physician, registered nurse, hospice aid, social worker, chaplain, bereavement services coordinator, massage therapist, volunteers, and other health care professionals. Hospice, Serving Davis and Wapello Counties have been providing services wherever the patient calls home. Including private residences, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or anywhere else the patient is residing.
The hospice team is ready to reopen its doors to the community providing end-of-life care, respite, and bereavement services to Iowans once again.
