Thomas Dean Cremer, 66, of Ottumwa, died at 12:10 p.m. September 21, 2023 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

He was born September 29, 1956 in Ottumwa to Mec Earl and Norma E. Redmon Cremer. Tom married Pamela Kay Reese on June 12, 1982.

A 1974 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he also graduated from Ottumwa Heights College and the University of Northern Iowa.

Tom worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier and Postmaster in Delta and retiring as Postmaster in Moulton in 2012.

Tom was a professional Disc Golfer, a Tournament Director and an advocate for the sport. He helped design multiple courses including Wildwood Park. He was also one of the initial inductees of the Iowa Disc Golf Hall of Fame. He had been a member of the Keokuk County Ruritan Club, was an avid blood donor, and enjoyed coaching his kids’ sports. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs and even pro wrestling.

Surviving is his wife, Pam; their children, Alison (Joe) Wiley of Ankeny and Benjamin Mec Cremer (Kaitlyn James) of Iowa City; 5 grandchildren, Henry Thomas Wiley, Harrison Robert Wiley, Aaliyah Cremer, Judah Belger and Noah Cremer; 2 brothers, Ron (Maddie) Cremer of Ankeny and Moss (Rebecca Haller) Cremer of Denver, CO; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 29th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Skinner officiating. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
