Ottumwa, Iowa- A semi trailer carrying corn oil overturned on the highway 34 east bypass this afternoon. Sergeant Cody McCoy with the Ottumwa Police Department said it appeared that the truck entered the turn a little fast. The rear wheels of the truck caught the gravel on the shoulder and spin the truck around. The semi ended up on its side in the right hand ditch. A small amount of corn oil was spilled and City Street crews were on hand to assist with the cleanup. Traffic has been reduced to one lane and authorities ask you to find an alternate route if possible.
