The Wapello County Historical Society is celebrating 67 years of preserving and sharing the history of the local community.
Organized on October 14, 1959, the society has spent decades collecting, preserving, and sharing the stories, people, and events that have shaped Wapello County and the surrounding communities.
The organization says its mission remains focused on connecting new generations with the area’s rich history while encouraging residents to learn more about and appreciate the places they call home.
The society also expressed its gratitude to its members, donors, volunteers, board of directors, and community partners for their continued support throughout the years.
As the organization looks toward the future, it remains committed to preserving local history and helping ensure those stories continue to be shared for generations to come.
