An Ottumwa man faces multiple drug charges after his arrest on an unrelated warrant.

52-year-old Lewis Turner has been charged with possession with intent to deliver over five grams of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

According to court documents, authorities searched Turner after his arrest at the corner of Vine and Ward on July 2 at 5:23 AM. An officer discovered 31.4 grams of methamphetamine and six baggies of marijuana ranging from 8.4 grams to 2.1 grams. Police say the evidence is consistent with the sales and distribution of controlled substances and not personal use.

Lewis was transported to the Wapello County Jail where his bail has been set at $25,000.

Lewis waived his preliminary hearing.
