A local resident has assembled grief kits which are now available at the Oskaloosa Public Library.
Thanks to a grant received through the Mahaska CPPC (Community Partners Protecting Children), Brooklyn Hayes made grief kits for all ages.
Grief Kits include tools, activities, and books to aid in processing many different kinds of grief such as pregnancy and infant loss, suicide, death of a parent, and more. Each kit contains books specifically written for children, teens, and adults as well as tips to help children who are curious about or have experienced loss.
Some items included in a grief kit are coloring pages, fidget items, handouts for parents, information on support groups, art supplies, and journal prompts.
Grief kits are for adults, teens, and children.
