The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced the day, time, and location for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Walmart Pharmacy in Fairfield.
Any unused or expired prescription drugs will be collected at the drop-off site, in addition to E-cigarettes and vaping devices. Anyone disposing of vape pens or e-cigarette devices must remove the batteries before dropping them off. If the battery cannot be removed, check with the large electronic chain stores, or contact your local hazardous materials management facility to determine if they accept these devices.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. The goal is also to educate the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. All community members are encouraged to participate.
