Marsha Teresa Driskell, age 85, of Melrose, IA, formerly of Albia and Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville, IA.
Marsha was born on September 6, 1941, in Illinois. She grew up there, attending school, and graduating from high school. She later attended college in Huntington, West Virginia, where she took business classes.
Marsha held several jobs over the years. In her early working career, she waitressed at Pizza Hut in Centerville provided private in-home care as a nurse’s aide. She also worked at Golden Age Care Center. Marsha later worked for several years as a material handler at Wells Manufacturing in Centerville before finding a position she truly enjoyed as the activity director at Centerville Specialty Care.
In her free time, Marsha enjoyed shopping and loved finding a good bargain. She also enjoyed playing games on the computer, especially Bejeweled and word search games. When her son was young, she enjoyed spending time outdoors and going fishing with him. Marsha enjoyed being outdoors and fishing when her son was young. Marsha also had a special love for her African grey birds and parrots.
Marsha is survived by her longtime companion, George Stephens; a son, Daniel Driskell; and 2 brothers, Gregory and George Baylous.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Per Marsha’s wishes, her body has been cremated and no formal services are planned.
