Van Buren County Hospital is alerting patients to a phishing email currently circulating that uses the MyChart name and logo and may appear to be related to a Medicare Advantage or wellness benefit, according to a social media post from the hospital.
Epic, the company behind MyChart, has confirmed that these emails are part of a broader phishing campaign and are not legitimate communications from Epic or from Van Buren County Hospital.
Patients who receive a suspicious email like this are asked not to click any links or buttons in the email, not to provide any personal, medical, financial, or insurance information, and not to reply to the message. Patients should report receiving the email to Van Buren County Hospital and then delete it.
