An Agency man is facing a misdemeanor charge after allegedly sending a series of threatening and disturbing messages to a Van Buren County individual over Facebook.

Charles Boos, 52, has been charged with Harassment in the First Degree, an aggravated misdemeanor. The alleged harassment occurred on July 3rd and 4th, 2026, but was not reported to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office until July 18th. Boos was booked on July 26th.

According to court documents, Boos sent multiple messages that included threats toward the victim, a message encouraging the victim to take their own life, and messages referencing the victim’s child in a sexually threatening manner. A subsequent message the following day continued the threatening nature of the communication.

A no-contact order has been issued in the case. Boos is being held on a $3,000 cash or surety bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 5th.
