Heat and humidity are expected to affect much of Iowa through the weekend and into early next week. Anyone spending time outdoors is encouraged to take precautions, including staying hydrated, limiting strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and checking on those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Thunderstorm chances will also return, with the potential for severe weather Sunday night. Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the forecast as the weekend progresses and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
