Dolores Anne Mottet, 95, of Ottumwa, died June 13, 2026 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.
She was born February 8, 1931 to Floyd and Marie Murphy Stump. She married Frank Mottet March 31, 1951 and he preceded her in death September 22, 2005.
A graduate of Ottumwa Heights, she had worked a short time in the front office at John Morrell & Co. As a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she took great pride in raising and caring for her family.
Dolores was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Patrick Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading and bowling, having participated in a women’s bowling league and the Knights of Columbus mixed league.
Surviving are her three children, Kathy (Ray) Spihlmann of Ottumwa, Danny (Sandy) Mottet of Ottumwa and Carol Mottet of Bettendorf; five grandchildren, Chris (Saundy) Larkin, Jeff (Sonja) Larkin, Matt (Tiffany) Spihlmann, Sarah (Travis) Hougland and Rachael Mottet; nine great grandchildren, Kevin, Lizzie, Andrew, Treyton, Brayden, Jade, Owen, Tanner and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna McDonald; and a great grandson, Christopher Jr.
Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18th at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 19th at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Parish or Vista Woods Activity Fund. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Vista Woods Care Center for the care they provided to Dolores.
