Nancy Elaine Long, 76, of Ottumwa died at 4:10 a.m. September 22, 2026 at her home.
She was born August 9, 1950 in Ottumwa to Delbert and Effie Elaine Ashmead Wood. She married Freddie Ernest Long November 1, 1967.
Nancy loved to read and was a published author. She had owned and operated Cozy Cottage Collectables in Ottumwa.
Surviving is her husband, Fred; their children, Missy Long of Ottumwa and Gerry (Kim) Long of Des Moines; 4 grandchildren, Coltt (Lindsey) LaVelle, AllieRae LaVelle, Christopher Long and Michael Long; 4 great grandchildren, Nellie Long, Brixton Long, Brett LaVelle and Tycenn Long; and a sister, Debbie Quick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom Wood and Jim Wood; sisters, Judith Rupe and Jackie Seibert.
Her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
