Burlington, Iowa, March 22, 2026 – The genre-defying string quartet Invoke will take the stage alongside acclaimed pianist and composer Clarice Assad for a captivating evening of music at the Capitol Theater in Burlington, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Known for blending classical, folk, bluegrass, and contemporary styles into a seamless and engaging sound, Invoke continues to push the boundaries of the traditional string quartet experience. Their collaboration with Clarice Assad – an internationally celebrated pianist, vocalist and composer – promises a performance rich in rhythmic vitality, improvisation and cross-cultural influences.
Assad, whose work draws from her Brazilian heritage as well as jazz and classical traditions, has earned widespread recognition for her innovative compositions and electrifying stage presence. Together with Invoke, she brings a program that highlights both original works and inventive reinterpretations, creating a concert experience that is as intimate as it is exhilarating.

An hour-long performance for fifth graders from Burlington and Ft Madison schools is also scheduled at 1 p.m. that same day.
Both performances will take place at the historic Capitol Theater, a cornerstone of Burlington’s arts community known for hosting a wide range of cultural events.
