A local police department responded to a vehicle that failed to stop during a traffic stop, leading officers on a pursuit across county lines.

On the morning of March 4th, the Oskaloosa Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle traveling west on IA 163. The driver failed to comply, prompting a pursuit. Law enforcement later located the same vehicle near Cordova Avenue and continued the pursuit into Marion County, where the vehicle eventually came to a stop near Dubuque Drive on Highway 163.

Court records indicate that the passenger of the vehicle was a 19-year-old from Des Moines. During routine checks, officers discovered that she had an active no-contact order involving the male driver of the vehicle, issued through Polk County.

The woman was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Mahaska County Jail. She is being held on a $300 cash-only bond. A pretrial conference is scheduled for March 18th.

She faces a charge of violation of a no-contact/protective order, classified as a simple misdemeanor.
