On October 8, a worker from the Department of Human Services (DHS) reported to the Centerville Police Department regarding Clayton Eubanks, 26, of Centerville. The DHS worker indicated that Eubanks was at a residence located in the 400 block of N. Haynes Ave and believed he was in a relationship with a minor victim. The worker requested law enforcement assistance to remove the minor from the residence.
Upon arrival, law enforcement questioned Eubanks about the allegations made by DHS. According to court documents, prior to the questioning, officers read Eubanks his Miranda Rights. During the interview, Eubanks admitted to having sexual contact with the minor victim on “only a couple of times.” Court records state that Eubanks provided details about the first incident, indicating that it occurred in Davis County, while the subsequent incidents took place at the residence on N. Haynes Ave in Centerville.
Eubanks was arrested and transported to the Appanoose County Jail. He waived his preliminary hearing, and a cash-only bond of $10,000 was set. Eubanks is facing charges of third-degree sexual abuse involving a child victim, with the allegation that he is four or more years older than the minor (Class C Felony). A no-contact order has been issued, and Eubanks is currently detained in the Appanoose County Jail.
