Cheryl Jean Weeks, 78, of Ottumwa died at 2:07 a.m. August 1, 2025 at her home.
She was born September 19, 1946 in Ottumwa to James W. “Tater” and Emogene E. Pickens Dotson. Cheryl married Philip Gregory Weeks June 3, 1969 and he preceded her in death January 12, 2025.
A resident of Ottumwa all her life she worked at K-Mart and Taco Johns. Her greatest joy was raising her family and taking care of her grandsons.
Cheryl enjoyed attending her grandson’s baseball games, shopping and going to the casinos with her husband.
Surviving are her two daughters, Shelley (Rick) Wood and Stacy R. Weeks both of Ottumwa; three grandsons, Jake (Sally) Wood, Chase (Nicole) Wood and Mitch Wood; four great grandchildren, Mia, Renee, Maddox, Maverick and one on the way; two sisters, Sharon Allender of Ottumwa and Terri Eads of Corning; two sisters-in-law, Gay (Bob) Hildebrand of South Jordan, UT and Cathy (Dusty) Deitch of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jason Daniel Weeks; brothers, Randy and Joe Dotson, and infant Jerry Dotson.
Her body has been cremated. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday August 8th at Reece Funeral Home. Graveside services and inurnment will follow at 3 p.m. at Shaul Cemetery.

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties for their wonderful care of both Cheryl and Phil in their last days.
