The Ottumwa Leadership Academy is proud to announce that Dr. Jeff Hendred will serve as the Dean for the 2025–2026 program year.
A lifelong Ottumwa resident, Dr. Hendred brings a deep passion for his community and a strong track record of leadership to this role. With 32 years of experience as a school administrator and decades of service on local and statewide boards and committees, he is a well-respected figure known for his dedication to people, progress, and purpose.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hendred has led youth missions across North America, launched Ottumwa’s first ecumenical ministry to Hispanic immigrants, revitalized struggling congregations, and mentored individuals across generations. His work has had a lasting impact on the Ottumwa community and beyond. He has been honored with numerous awards including the KYOU Spirit of the Community Award, Red Cross Hero of the Heartland, and the AmeriCorps Bronze Award, presented on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
As Dean, Dr. Hendred will guide participants through a transformational year of personal growth, civic engagement, and leadership development. The Academy encourages individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the Ottumwa area to consider applying.
