Sandra A. Schippers, 80, of Ottumwa, died at 3:05 a.m. December 23, 2024 at home, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 12, 1944 in Albia to Fred and Margaret Major Rohm. Sandra married Robert “Bob” Schippers on August 5, 1962.
She attended Ottumwa High School. Sandra had worked at and retired from Universal Rundle. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband, Bob; their children, Linda (Mike) Moore of Auxvasse MO, Lisa (Timothy) Pickrell of Ottumwa and Robert (Carla) Schippers Jr. of Ottumwa; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Diane (Steve) Rokop of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Donald Janney; and a brother, Scott Janney.
Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be at a later date. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book and leave a memorial from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, December 26th, at Reece Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society or Good Samaritan Society Hospice.
