Visit Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has made a financial contribution to Main Street Fairfield in support of ongoing efforts to strengthen downtown Fairfield, enhance its physical environment, and encourage new retail development.
The contribution reflects the organizations’ shared commitment to a thriving downtown that serves residents, welcomes visitors and contributes to Fairfield’s economic vitality.
“Downtown is one of Fairfield’s most important visitor attractions,” said Terry Baker, executive director of Visit Fairfield CVB. “The shops, restaurants, historic buildings, public spaces, and experiences found here are a big part of what makes Fairfield worth visiting. Main Street plays an important role in keeping that environment vibrant, attractive, and economically healthy.”
While the two organizations have distinct missions, their work frequently intersects. Main Street Fairfield focuses on downtown revitalization, business development, and improvements to the downtown environment. Visit Fairfield works to attract visitors, increase visitor spending, and promote the experiences and businesses that make Fairfield a destination. Together, their efforts help create a downtown that is both a community asset and a driver of tourism.
“Tourism doesn’t happen in isolation,” Baker added. “It depends on the businesses, organizations, and people who create places visitors want to experience. Main Street’s work is an important part of that bigger picture. Our contribution is one way we’re supporting that work, alongside the projects and promotional efforts we collaborate on throughout the year.”
The organizations regularly work together to promote downtown shopping, dining, events, and experiences, connecting visitors with local businesses while encouraging residents to explore and support their own community.
“Strong partnerships help us accomplish more for downtown Fairfield,” said Jill Lane, executive director of Main Street Fairfield. “Visit Fairfield brings visitors and visibility to our downtown businesses, while our work helps create the environment and opportunities that make people want to spend time here. We’re grateful for their support and the continued collaboration between our organizations.”
The contribution will support Main Street Fairfield’s ongoing initiatives to enhance downtown infrastructure and public spaces, strengthen the downtown business environment and attract new retail opportunities.
