Thousands of FFA members from across the country are in Indianapolis this week to learn, network, and learn about careers in agriculture.

Violet Mork, the president of the St. Paul-Humboldt FFA Chapter in Minnesota, says she’s attending national convention for the first time.

“I’m really excited to see the different organizations that are here and explore all of the different agricultural opportunities,” she says.

Graham Hansen, a sophomore with the Charles City FFA Chapter in Iowa, says he wants to continue developing his leadership skills within the organization.

“My friend Madison and I are leading a workshop later today and then we do plan to go to a couple of others just for the knowledge,” he says.

Ella Murray, a senior from the Seymour FFA Chapter in Indiana, says she’s looking forward to exploring different career opportunities.

“I really enjoy convention every year,” she says. “I like the opening session, taking advantage of all the colleges out there, and it’s helped me find a passion towards animal science.”

This year’s convention runs through Saturday.
