Commercial and private pesticide applicators will have an opportunity to earn continuing instruction credit during a Non-Soil Fumigation Continuing Instruction Course scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2026, in Oskaloosa.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Mahaska County will host the course at the Mahaska County Extension Office, located at 212 North I Street. The program is provided through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Pesticide Safety Education Program.

The course begins at 9 a.m. and may last up to three hours, depending on the topics presented.

Registration costs $45 for those who preregister by November 10. The fee increases to $60 after that date. Walk-in admission is not guaranteed, so applicators are encouraged to register in advance.

The course provides continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in Category 7C (Fumigation) and private pesticide applicators certified to apply fumigants.

Topics will include personal protective equipment and respirators, professionalism, pesticide storage and chemical security, as well as pests, pest management and pesticides.

To register or request additional information, contact Suzette Striegel at the Mahaska County Extension Office at 641-673-5841.

Additional course information and registration forms are available through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program at www.extension.iastate.edu/PSEP.

Applicators should note that attending a Continuing Instruction Course does not automatically renew their certification through the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
