The Jefferson County Communications Center has been temporarily relocated due to a facility issue, and non-emergency phone lines are currently unavailable, according to updates from the Fairfield Police Department.

As of 7:39 p.m. Thursday, October 1st, the non-emergency phone lines remain down. The department said it is working throughout the night to restore service and hopes to have the lines operational by Friday. Residents are asked not to call 911 for non-emergency matters. 911 remains fully operational and should only be used for emergencies.

During the temporary relocation, the Communications Center window in the lobby is closed and unavailable to the public. For non-emergency assistance or to speak with a Fairfield Police officer, contact dispatch at 641-472-4146.

The Fairfield Police Department said it will provide an update once the Communications Center has returned to its normal location and the lobby window has reopened.
