The City of Ottumwa reminds residents that community Trick-or-Treat Night will be Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Motorists are advised to use extra caution that evening and drive slowly through neighborhoods, keeping an eye out for children who may be crossing the street or walking near the roadway. Parents and guardians are encouraged to make sure costumes are visible in the dark and that children know to watch for vehicles before crossing streets.
Homeowners can help make the evening safer by removing tripping hazards from sidewalks and the yard, keeping walkways well lit, and refraining from handing out candy if they are feeling ill.
