More than 265,000 Iowans had cast ballots during the first 11 days of early voting, according to data from the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office released October 26.
Nearly 71% of the ballots were cast in person at county auditor’s offices or satellite voting locations. Approximately 155,000 Iowans requested absentee ballots by mail, and as of the previous Friday, county auditors had received 43% of those ballots.
The early voting data shows Democrats leading in ballots cast in Iowa’s first, second and third congressional districts, while Republicans lead in the fourth district. Nearly half of the district’s registered voters are Republicans.
The figures reflect early voting activity and voter registration data. They do not indicate how voters have marked their ballots or predict the outcome of the November election.
