A Davis County Community Schools bus carrying students home from a cross-country meet in Chariton was involved in an accident after striking a horse.
School officials say there were no reportable injuries resulting from the incident, and all parents and guardians of the students have been notified.
Local law enforcement responded quickly and assisted with the situation. Davis County Community Schools expressed its appreciation to law enforcement, as well as the coaches and bus driver, for handling the incident with composure.
The district also thanked Chariton for providing a bus to transport the students. The Chariton bus will meet a Davis County school bus along the route home so the students can return safely and as quickly as possible.
