With shorter days and the end of daylight saving time on
Sunday, November 1, more residents will be walking, jogging, and cycling in the dark during
morning and evening hours. To help them stay visible to drivers, the City of Ottumwa is offering
free reflective bands at several locations around town beginning Tuesday, October 27. A limited
number of reflective vests are also available.
Baskets containing reflective bands will be available at the following locations, while supplies last:
Ottumwa City Hall, 105 East Third Street
Ottumwa Public Library, 102 West Fourth Street
Meet Ottumwa, 115 East Main Street
Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress, 217 East Main Street
Main Street Ottumwa, 334 East Main Street
The City reminds drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians, especially during early morning
and evening hours when visibility is lowest.
