A Marion County woman is facing a domestic abuse charge after allegedly throwing a cinderblock through a window at a residence in Melcher-Dallas.
Wendy Ybarra, 56, of Melcher-Dallas has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Display or Use of a Weapon — First Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The alleged incident occurred on Thursday, September 24th.
According to court documents, a deputy was dispatched to a report of a female attempting to break into a residence she believed she still had residency to, arriving to find a broken window at the front of the home. The male resident told deputies that Ybarra, with whom he had been in a relationship for seven years, showed up wanting to get inside after being told she no longer lived there. Ybarra then allegedly ripped off screen windows in an attempt to enter. When she was unable to gain entry, she allegedly grabbed a cinderblock and threw it through the window while the male was standing just a couple of feet away. The incident was captured on a camera inside the living room.
Ybarra told deputies she had moved out approximately a month prior to care for a relative and said she found the locks had been changed when she returned. She acknowledged using the cinderblock to break the window but disputed that she threw it.
Ybarra is being held on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. A no-contact order has been requested in the case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 2nd.
