South Ottumwa Savings Bank has selected Lisa Duff, ISU Extension and Outreach K-12 Coordinator, as the 2026 Oktoberfest Kiddie Parade Grand Marshal.
Duff has spent the past 12 years working with the Extension Office, making a difference in the lives of hundreds of area children through the Wapello County Clover Kids Program and other youth educational programs.
Her work with local students includes 3rd Grade Ag Day, 4th Grade Tech Fair, 5th Grade Currency Keepers, which teaches financial literacy, and 6th Grade Mindful Teen. Duff also played an important role in bringing the Chick Hatching Program to Cardinal Community Schools for four years. The program gives students hands-on learning experiences in life cycles, agriculture, animal care, and science.
South Ottumwa Savings Bank has coordinated the Oktoberfest Kiddie Parade for more than 30 years. According to Suzie Morrison, Vice President and Marketing Officer, the bank looks for someone who has made a positive impact on local children or serves as a role model in the community.
“Lisa Duff works tirelessly with the youth in our area, and her enthusiasm for learning and youth engagement is unmatched,” Morrison said. “We feel Lisa is very deserving of this honor of Grand Marshal.”
