A season of transition is underway across the Iowa National Guard, with another change in leadership taking place this week at Camp Dodge.
Col. Randall T. Stanford officially assumed command of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, from Col. Eric W. Soults during a change of command ceremony on September 11 at Camp Dodge in Johnston.
The ceremony marked the formal transfer of responsibility for the Red Bull Brigade while also recognizing Soults for his leadership and service to the unit.
Stanford now takes the reins as the brigade begins a new chapter following its recent deployment. The change of command is one of several ceremonies expected as leadership transitions continue across the Red Bull Brigade following the unit’s return home.
The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division is part of the Iowa Army National Guard and is based in Boone, with units located throughout Iowa and Minnesota.
