The National Weather Service in Des Moines is keeping an eye on the potential for flooding across parts of central Iowa as several rounds of heavy rain move through the region this week.
Forecasters say repeated rainfall could cause water levels to rise quickly, especially in areas that receive multiple rounds of heavy precipitation. Flash flooding is possible, with the threat potentially shifting to river flooding as rainfall continues and waterways rise.
The greatest concern is across much of central Iowa, where additional rainfall is expected from today through much of the week.
