Gregory L. Albertson, 75, of Ottumwa died at 5:30 p.m. August 30, 2026 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born October 20, 1950 in Ottumwa to Clarence and Mildred Spears Albertson. He married the love of his life, Julie A. Shepard, September 23, 1977 and she preceded him in death January 27, 2004.
A resident of Ottumwa all his life, Greg was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. He had worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works.
Greg enjoyed being outdoors, grilling with family and friends and loved dogs. He was a kind, gentle and generous person.
Surviving are his nephews and nieces, Aaron (Caroline) Much, Eric Much (Barb Biederman), Kelly (Alan) Brown, Travis (Jami) Shepard, Tim (Meredith) Shepard, Alyssa (Ryan) Caldbeck, Anthony Shepard, Adam Shepard; 2 brothers-in-law, Tom (Sue) Shepard, Patrick Shepard; a sister-in-law, Laurayne Much.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 8th at Calvary Cemetery.
