Ottumwa Golf and Social Club will host the 6th annual Wednesday Night Men’s Bogey World Championship Golf Tournament tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Prior to tee- off, opening ceremonies beginning at approximately 12:30 p.m. will include performances from Ottumwa High School JROTC Color Guard, as well as the 55-member OHS choir, including the Meistersingers. Goodwill donations chipped in from the players and fans will go directly to OHS programming.
The 13 players competing for the title faced a rigorous summer-long qualifying process to even get on the green. Ryan Mitchell, event coordinator since its inception, stated that the competition would be especially tough this year with the extreme heat warnings this week in Ottumwa. Refreshments will not be a suggestion but more of a requirement and only the most resilient, determined golfers will have a chance at the title. There will be a one-hour intermission on Hole 12, sponsored by Malort, where onlookers may procure autographs and
the players can rehydrate.
“It is a great honor to be a part of the most prestigious golf tournament in the state, nay, the country, nay, the world,” stated multi-year qualifier Colby Hayes.
The tournament champion will receive his name engraved on a commemorative plaque prominently located inside the country club, and of course, bragging rights.
