Crews will begin the annual fall cleanup at the Ottumwa, Calvary and Ottumwa Jewish Cemeteries on Thursday, October 1.
Families who have floral tributes, wreaths or other memorial decorations they would like to keep are asked to remove those items before October 1.
Shepherd’s crooks may remain in place, but any arrangements hanging from them must be removed.
Cemetery personnel will remove all floral tributes, decorations and wreaths left at the cemeteries after the cleanup begins.
Fall and winter decorations may be placed at the cemeteries beginning November 1.
The three cemeteries are cleaned twice each year, with seasonal cleanups taking place in the spring and fall.
Anyone with questions about the cleanup or requirements for memorial decorations can contact the cemetery office at 641-683-0687.
