Connie Louise Playle, 61, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, September 24, 2026, at her home in Oskaloosa. She was born October 9, 1964. As a young girl she was adopted by Richard and Yvonne Boswell Benge. Connie attended school at Pekin. On April 10, 1982, she was united in marriage to Robin Playle. To this union two daughters were born Holly and Jennifer. Connie devoted most of her time to caring for her family and home. She worked outside the home at Pella Corporation and later at Subway in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed attending the First Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa, feeding the squirrels, and going to Oskaloosa Family Restaurant to meet with family and friends. Connie loved dogs and was especially fond of dachshunds.
Her family includes her husband of over 44 years, Robin Playle of Oskaloosa; two daughters and their husbands, Holly and Sean Cully of Dallas Center, Iowa, and Jennifer and Joey Wissler of University Park; nine grandchildren, Caleb, Jayden, Emily, Corey, Ivan, Adelynn, Hailey, Taylor, and Arieanna; two brothers, Harold Benge of Oskaloosa and R.D. Benge of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandparents, Tom and Irma Boswell.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sean Cully officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2026, to greet friends and relatives.
