Sherry Yvonne Hanna, 70, of Ottumwa died October 17, 2026 at her home.
She was born November 29, 1955 in Albia to Samuel J. and Maxine Benedict Wilcoxson. Sherry married LeRoy Hanna Sr. March 30, 1985. He preceded her in death October 10, 2024.
Growing up in Detroit, Michigan and Pekin, Illinois, she lived in Ottumwa for the past 20 years. She had worked at Cargill and Subway and last worked at Elliot Oil BP, retiring in 2024.
Sherry was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batavia.
She and LeRoy enjoyed traveling, especially to Texas and Tennessee. She enjoyed cooking and baking. More than anything, Sherry loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, LeRoy (Patti) Hanna Jr. of Ottumwa, Sandra Cason of Ottumwa, Jack Drew of Newton and David (Betty) Armstrong of Eldon; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Samuel (Connie) Wilcoxson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tyron Baber; a grandson, William Voorhees; and 2 brothers, Bruce Wilcoxson and Steve Wilcoxson.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 20th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 21st at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Shipley officiating. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery Lynn Addition.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church for missions.
