The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a crash involving a Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputy that happened Monday evening in rural Henry County.
The Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at approximately 7:04 p.m. on August 17.
As a deputy was responding to the original crash, the deputy was involved in a second collision near the intersection of the 1100 grid of Franklin Avenue and the 1200 grid of Grange Avenue.
The Iowa State Patrol was called in to handle the investigation into the deputy-involved crash. The Wayne County Fire Department and Henry County EMS also responded to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the people involved, the extent of the injuries, or what led to either crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
