Two inmates at the Henry County Jail are facing assault charges following a physical altercation Sunday night.
According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the jail at approximately 10:42 p.m. on July 19 after receiving a report of a fight between two inmates.
Investigators reviewed video footage that reportedly showed 19-year-old Edward Kellum and 34-year-old Estephan Ellis-Arvizu approaching one another in the jail’s social area. Authorities say the two exchanged closed-fist strikes before becoming involved in a physical struggle.
Following an investigation that included a review of video footage and statements from those involved, both men were charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says no further information is available at this time.
