Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead as several community events taking place Friday, July 31, through Saturday, August 1, will require temporary road closures throughout Ottumwa.
On Friday, July 31, Green Street near East Second Street will be closed to traffic from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for a community event. If needed, the rain date is scheduled for Sunday, August 2, with the road closed from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
On Saturday, August 1, the Market Street Bridge will be closed from 10:00 a.m. until noon during the grand opening celebration of the All-Abilities Play Space.
Also on Saturday, August 1, East Second Street in front of Ottumwa High School will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the Ottumwa School District Back-2-School Health & Family Festival.
