Pekin Community Schools is looking for community donations to help fund a fireworks display as part of a growing homecoming tradition, according to a social media post from Pekin High School Secretary Christy Gambell.
For the second year, Pekin will hold its homecoming parade in Hedrick, followed by coronation, food trucks, student activities, and a fireworks display to close out the evening. Gambell said the school hopes to turn the event into a lasting tradition that brings together Pekin’s communities and invites alumni back to celebrate.
Donations to help fund the fireworks display can be sent to the Pekin Central Office. Those with questions are encouraged to contact Activities Director Klynt Weber, Ann Swanson, or Christy Gambell.
