An Ottumwa man faces a misdemeanor charge after police say he violated a no-contact order by going to a protected party’s residence.
According to a criminal complaint, the Ottumwa Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Queen Anne Avenue at approximately 3:35 p.m. on July 18.
Court documents state that 40-year-old Colt Ball of Ottumwa was found at the protected party’s residence. A valid no-contact order was in place that granted the protected party sole possession of the residence and prohibited Ball from going to the property.
Ball was taken into custody and transported to the Wapello County Jail. He was later released on bond.
Court records indicate a no-contact order was reissued on July 19. A pretrial conference is scheduled for August 15.
Ball is charged with violation of a no-contact/protective order, a simple misdemeanor.
